The Bible itself tells us that it changes us--it's living and active. So even when we read and it seems like it's irrelevant, we can trust that it is doing something within our spirits. A weak analogy, but it can also be like the virus protection on your computer-it keeps it clean even though we don't "see" it protecting our computer. The word cleanses us whether we know it or not. S And sometimes the fruit of our study may not become real to us or evident for a long, long time. But we need to take God at His word, that His words are life-giving. Go for it!
